All That Glitters Is Not Gold

Have to respectfully disagree with Thieves here. Sure Avicii's new track is shit, but Thomas Gold, on the other hand, has been killing the game of late. His single "Sing2Me" topped the Beatport charts for weeks and we have featured just about everything he has done since on Fuck Yeah Humans. Here are two more for ya.

Love the way he pans the chords in the intro here. Whether this is you type of jam or not, you have to admire this guy from a production standpoint.

Taking a classic and giving it a little extra umph.

Trance Without Pants Bonus:

I rarely if ever post truancy stuff here, but this one registers dangerously high on the brown note scale thanks to Mr Robinson's magic touch.

From Rome

This post is coming to you straight from Rome.  There's a bunch of big songs getting put out by lots of people you've probably heard of, which I'm going to skip posting, because most of the stuff getting put out by the big names right now is absolute shit in my opinion.  So I'm hoping I can post some songs for you guys that you won't see on every single other blog you may read.  Everything included here is Thieves-approved 100% in the bitch good-times music.

Starting things off with some funky glitch from a group I've never heard off but am excited to hear more from.  This is a straight-up party starter.

From one of the reigning kings of drum and bass comes this massive anthem.  Count on this as being one of the songs of the summer, maybe not on the main-stage but definitely on some of the more forward thinking side-stages.

Hot off the heals of huge remixes of Skream's "Anticipate" and Rusko's "Everyday," Netsky drops this melodic drum and bass monster, the first single from his forthcoming album.

Okay that's all I'm gonna post for now.  I've got some more songs lined up so expect another post in the next few days.

Knife Party - Rage Valley EP

Good news for people who like good news:  Knife Party released their long-anticipated "Rage Valley EP" today, containing the monster tracks Centipede, Bonfire, Sleaze, and of course Rage Valley.  These tracks have been popping up in their sets for months, and after seeing them performed live in March at Hard New York I've been chomping at the bit to get high quality versions.  After one time listening through the whole EP I think it's fair to say that its a step up from their last release, 100% No Modern Talking.  The sound is generally a bit cleaner and slightly more varied, while also being more honed without sacrificing any of the seizure-inducing hysteria the duo have become known for.  I've provided links to all four tracks below, hopefully they stay up for download and don't get popped by the label copyright Nazis patrolling the internet.  Enjoy.

Happy raging,

Saturday Mish-Mash

Humans, I have jumble of epic tracks for you this Saturday. I highly recommend that you download them all. Cheers.

True Emotion (Original Vocal) - Hard Rock Sofa
A classic big-room track recently featured on SVD Identity 130.

Another great one off Pryda's recent album Eric Prydz Presents Pryda. The whole album is unreal.

Most certainly the strangest track of the bunch. A true journey down the rabbit hole. Andrew Bayer, one of my favorite Anjunabeats' artists, has been playing it recently.

Slaptop at EDC!

Hey Humans,

I have entered into a competition to play a set at EDC Las Vegas. This would be a dream come true for me and a great way to jump-start my career as a producer. This mix, unlike some of my previous ones, is highly personal and represents a sort of unique style that I am drawn to as both a fan and a producer. please give it a listen and let me know what you think. With a little luck and a lot of listens, I'll see you at EDC.

Thanks For Your Support,

For Fun

I've been posting a lot lately, pretty much just the songs that I've been playing on repeat on a given day. I see no reason to deviate from the trend. Here are the ones that I've been looping today/last night. A couple of them are kind of old, but that's okay: they've aged well.

P.S. For those of you looking for something to do with two hours of your life, I'd recommend sitting down with this guy. Myon & Shane 54 tear it up. There are some really cool songs and mashups, definitely worth checking out.

Monday Mash

Mashups have a tendency to be really hit or miss. These guys are all great though. They'll help get your week off to a good start.

This is a replication of a mashup of Armin van Buuren's. Caught my ear as I was leaving Electric Zoo last summer. It was one of the last songs in Armin's set.

This one's also a replication of one of Dash Berlin's mashups. I first heard this on his TATW guest mix and it just blew me away.
